Identità Malta
The Maltese government agency responsible for residence permits, identity documents, and immigration services.
Identità (formerly Identity Malta) is the government agency that processes Single Permits, Long-Term Residence, and other residence and identity documents in Malta. Its Expatriates Unit specifically handles immigration-related applications for non-EU nationals.
The agency moved to a new website (identita.gov.mt) in 2025. Applications are mostly employer-initiated; applicants cannot apply directly without employer sponsorship for work-based permits.
