MaltaPathway is an independent guide for third-country nationals working in Malta — the Single Permit, the Skills Pass, the pre-departure course, changing employer, renewals, family, and long-term residence. It is free, it cites its sources, and it is not affiliated with Identità, Jobsplus, or any recruitment agency.
Why MaltaPathway exists
If you are a third-country national working in Malta, almost nobody is writing for you. The law firms write for employers and for people buying residence. The recruitment agencies are paid by the employer. The government publishes the truth, but often as a 250-word page, a broken portal, or a scanned PDF — the Single Permit status descriptions live on page 22 of one.
So the answers that decide your life — how many days you have after a job ends, whether your permit is still valid while a renewal sits in a queue, whether the offer your agent sold you even exists — get traded in Facebook groups and WhatsApp, by people guessing.
MaltaPathway exists to give you the number, the date, and the next move, with the official source next to it. Where the official source is genuinely unclear or contradicts itself, this site says so rather than inventing certainty. That is the whole promise, and it is worth nothing if it is out of date — so pages carry the date they were last checked, and corrections are public.

MaltaPathway has a named editorial owner because immigration guidance without accountability is dangerous, not just stale. A wrong number here can cost someone their permit, their job, or thousands of euros. If something on this site is wrong, one person is answerable for it.
The editorial standard is simple: explain trade-offs, avoid invented certainty, and point readers to official or primary sources when facts can change.
Recommendations remain editorial. Commercial links, when added, should be disclosed and should never pretend MaltaPathway operates the service being linked.
Practical first
Guides should help readers choose an area, route, beach, ferry day, or itinerary with fewer open questions.
Source checked
Transport, ferry, event, and attraction details need visible review dates and links to official pages where possible.
Independent
The site is not operated by a public authority, tourism board, airport, ferry operator, hotel, or booking platform.

What MaltaPathway is not
- Not an official Malta website. Use official sources for government services, transport notices, permits, payments, and case-specific decisions.
- Not a booking operator. MaltaPathway may point to ferries, tours, hotels, or attractions, but it does not operate them.
- Not legal, medical, or safety advice. Check current official guidance and local conditions before acting.

Editorial policy
We write for visitors who need useful decisions, not padded destination copy. When details change often, pages should show a review date and direct readers to primary sources.
Source policy
Primary sources come first: official transport operators, official attraction pages, event organizers, local councils, and public authorities where relevant.
Monetization disclosure
MaltaPathway may later earn from ads, affiliate links, or labelled sponsorships. Commercial placements must be disclosed and must not override editorial judgement.
Correction policy
If a page is wrong, stale, or missing a source, send the URL and correction to hello@maltapathway.com. Corrections that affect someone's legal status — deadlines, fees, eligibility, who has to file what — go to the front of the queue and get fixed the same day.
