About

What is MaltaPathway?

An independent, founder-led resource for third-country nationals navigating Malta's immigration system — work permits, family routes, and long-term residence.

Why this exists

Malta's immigration rules for third-country nationals have changed significantly in the past two years — mandatory pre-departure courses, new Skills Pass requirements, shifting I Belong programme rules. Official information is scattered, often PDF-only, and rarely written for people who aren't already familiar with immigration terminology.

MaltaPathway pulls together what's known from official sources, puts it in plain English, and cites every claim so you can verify it yourself. Where sources conflict or rules are unclear, we say so explicitly rather than pretending there's a clean answer.

Founder

Yassine Laassal

Building MaltaPathway as a practical, source-first product, not as an agency or law firm.

MaltaPathway needs a human face because immigration guidance without accountability feels disposable. The brand should not hide behind anonymous content or pretend to be official.

My role is to build tools that help people verify claims, understand the next step, and keep their own timeline organized. That means plain language, visible source notes, correction paths, and no invented legal authority.

I am not presenting myself as a lawyer, government representative, or guaranteed-outcome consultant. MaltaPathway earns trust by showing its sources, limits, and updates.

Brand promise

Clear next steps, source notes, and practical tools for people who cannot afford confusion.

Founder stance

Human, accountable, and direct — but careful not to turn personal trust into legal-advice claims.

Proof standard

Public proof should be earned with sources, product usage, corrections, and community trust.

Official social channels

Follow MaltaPathway for guide releases, policy update notes, and community-facing explainers. These are MaltaPathway channels, not Maltese government pages.

What MaltaPathway is NOT

  • Not a law firm or legal advisor. Nothing here is legal advice. For your specific situation, consult a licensed immigration lawyer or official government sources.
  • Not affiliated with the Maltese government. We are an independent platform. We have no authority over permit decisions.
  • Not a guarantee. Immigration rules change. Always verify current requirements with Identità Malta or Jobsplus before submitting any application.

How it works

1

Free guides with source notes

Every factual claim links to an official source, such as government websites, EU portals, or official correspondence. When something is uncertain, we label it clearly.

2

Study Hub for the pre-departure course

The mandatory pre-departure orientation course (required since March 2026) covers specific topics. Our Study Hub starts with a free sample, then offers full prep plans with flashcards and quizzes based on those published topics.

3

Your personalised pathway

Answer a few questions about your situation and we match you to the right route — Single Permit, Family Reunification, Long-Term Residence — with a checklist of steps ordered by what actually needs to happen first.

Editorial policy

We write for third-country nationals who need plain-English decisions, not legal marketing. Pages are updated when official rules, fees, or process notes change. If a claim is uncertain, we label it instead of hiding the uncertainty.

Source policy

Official sources come first: Identita Malta, Jobsplus, Human Rights Directorate, EU portals, and published government pages. Community or correspondence-based notes are labelled separately and should be verified before action.

Monetization disclosure

MaltaPathway may earn revenue from ads, premium tools, or clearly labelled sponsored/affiliate links such as insurance or money setup guides. Sponsored items are labelled and do not change official requirement guidance.

Correction policy

If a page is wrong, stale, or missing a source, send the URL and the correction to hello@maltapathway.com. We prioritize corrections that affect eligibility, fees, deadlines, or user safety.

Who is this for?

MaltaPathway is written primarily for:

  • Third-country nationals applying for a Malta Single Permit for the first time
  • Workers in tourism and hospitality who also need the Skills Pass
  • People bringing family members to Malta via Reunification or the Family Members Policy
  • Long-term residents preparing for LTR status and the I Belong programme
  • Employers and HR teams navigating applications on behalf of staff

Portfolio and proof

Next proof to add: a real founder photo, public professional links, business profile, media mentions, partner citations, correction log, and case-study evidence. These should be added only when they are verified and safe to keep public.

Until then, MaltaPathway should earn trust through source-cited pages, transparent limits, useful tools, and correction history rather than borrowed authority.

Community groups, creators, and employers can cite the community resources page for suggested citations, linkable assets, and correction instructions.
